Vietnam currently offers a 90-day tourist e-visa to citizens of all countries and territories, making it one of the most accessible entry options for international travelers.

You are eligible to apply for a Vietnam tourist visa if:

  • Your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.

  • You are not on the list of prohibited entrants under Vietnam’s immigration laws.

  • You are visiting Vietnam for tourism, sightseeing, leisure, visiting friends, or other non-commercial purposes.

Documents & Photo Rules

To apply tourist visa Vietnam, prepare the following:

1. Passport

  • A clear color scan of the passport information page.

  • Passport must be undamaged and fully readable.

2. Portrait Photo for e-Visa

  • Size: 4×6 cm or similar.

  • White background, face forward, no glasses, no hats.

  • Taken within the last 6 months.

3. Travel Information

  • Expected date of entry.

  • Chosen entry point (airport, land border, seaport).

  • Temporary accommodation address in Vietnam (hotel or Airbnb accepted).

  • Standard: 3–5 business days

  • Peak season or system overload: 5–7 business days

Validity

  • Valid for 90 days, available as single-entry or multiple-entry.

  • You may stay in Vietnam for the entire duration of the visa validity.

Important Notes

  • The Vietnam e visa for tourists generally cannot be extended inside Vietnam.

  • Travelers who wish to stay longer often choose a multiple-entry e-visa and perform a “visa run” to a nearby country (Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia).
